About Me

Welcome to the home of the handcrafted Advent Tree.
Sharing authentic love, joy, hope and peace.

Welcome! I’m Andy — an ordinary “have‑a‑go” kind of person who once picked up a few bits of timber in my garage and accidentally started a movement. I’m not a carpenter, just someone who loves using what I have to make a difference.
A few years ago, as Christmas approached, I realised that while churches speak often about love, joy, hope and peace, many people searching for those very things would never think of stepping inside one. So I built the first Advent Tree and fixed it to the side of my house, simply to share those gifts with anyone passing by.
To my surprise, it sparked conversations, curiosity and countless questions. The next year we added a QR code linking to a simple website, giving people a way to explore the message for themselves — privately, at their own pace.
Word spread. Friends asked for Advent Trees. Then communities did. Soon there were 10 trees across the UK… then 78 across Birmingham… then 30 more around the country… and 100 in Clark County, Kentucky.
As the Advent Tree movement grew, so did the number of people wanting to be part of it. Last year more than 80 volunteers — from youth groups, families, pupils from an additional‑needs school, and an outdoor health and wellbeing centre — came together to build Advent Trees. People of all ages and backgrounds picked up tools, shared stories, learned new skills and found joy in creating something meaningful for their communities.
And we’re still growing. My hope is simple: to see an Advent Tree on every street, giving everyone the chance to discover authentic love, joy, hope and peace right where they live.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” – Ephesians 2:10
